Youtube Singer Showdown
Have you ever been searching for music on Youtube and been wondering who listens to those people who record themselves singing famous tracks? Well... one of those losers is me.
So, I have decided to present my own Youtube Singer Showdown:
The First Competitor: Esmee Denters
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qW2jplF-gTc
Competitor no. 1 is 18 year old Esmee Denters from the Netherlands. Although her video quality is lower than Competitor no. 2, her ability to pull of a pretty competent r&b voice is worth notice (since she neither has the accent nor the environment to yield such a voice). Also, without a backup track for rhythm or harmony, Denters' performance showcases skill beyond her years. Plus, I admittedly like this song.
The Second Competitor: Mia Rose
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60lqUDWdP5Y
Competitor no. 2 seems (or has friends who are) very media-savvy, with a semi-professional looking website and this youtube addition's high video quality. Unfortunately, though her voice has that smoothness and 18-year-old-singing-in-her-room-feel that Kelly Clarkson's rendition lacks, the comparison reveals that this UK resident does not have the voice to compete in the big leagues.
So, who do you vote for? Why? Or do you just think I'm wasting my God-given time on earth by listening to 18 year old amateurs?
Stop judging!

Props for doing this Adam. I hope you keep it up and you can be our personal critic/filter for all the gazillion of Youtube "me singing" videos.
My vote's hands down for Mia Rose! That Esmee girl sounds completely generic. It's a real shame because there's so many girls out there who are good singers, but they try so hard to imitate those diva intonations that they all end up sounding the same. Mia sounded like, well, a real girl instead of a voice cranked out of a sound factory.
And I hate to be one of those guys who responds to Youtube videos with more videos, but you gotta check this girl out http://youtube.com/watch?v=VnspuG6K2kY she's 12 years old and from Quebec (w00t! Canada!) but she's not just another cutesy singing prodigy, she sings jazz! What's even more impressive is how comfortable she seems and her stage presence. Saw a piece on CBC about her and looked her up. Really amazing stuff.

Props Jon? Not knowing what the first comment said I was commenting this:
Man Adam! You got my hopes up. I was looking for some good man time. This doesn't have anything to do with manhood. I guess this sounds harsh.
It is your blog, so I do encourage you to do with it as you please. I just found this post boring. Sorry bro.
In Christ
